TW IV XI |
| Playing a 40-over match, Wells gave their Colts and a couple of seniors an outing, putting Dulwich in and dismissing them for 144 just as the overs ran out. Matt Bolton was pick of the attack with 3-15, gaining good support from C.Williams (2-18) and J.Matthews (2-18 also). Several of the visitors' batsmen got in but no-one went on to build an innings, and Wells were set a modest target of 145 to win. N.Beck (42) and W.Lee (23) opened up with a partnership of 80, which effectively decided the outcome, but Dulwich then struck back with three quick wickets. J.Hughes (21 not out) and K.Matthews (34 not out) then showed nerve and ability as they took Wells to victory in an unbroken fourth stand of 63. The young Wells players showed fine resolve and no little skill in despatching a fully adult opposition XI. |
