A glorious July afternoon saw a young TWCC XI lose the toss and be invited to bat. A hostile and accurate opening spell from Harwood (9-3-15-3) meant that Murgesan had to rebuild the innings. Support from Corfield (26), Mohammed (32) and Burley (15) enabled a declaration after 41.3 overs at 174 for 8. An entirely adult Wadhurst side recovered from the loss of two early wickets to be steered to victory by a mature and controlled innings form Cooper. All the bowlers strove well in the heat and were most effective when keeping the ball well pitched up. Williams' leg spin was most encouraging and in a brief spell Mohammed picked up two wickets.
