| In March 2012 TWCC is sending a team to play cricket in South Africa. Fifteen players plus supporters are visiting Cape Town to play fixtures against high quality local opposition and experience the diverse culture and natural beauty of South Africa. This is the first tour of this nature that the Club has organised and it is hoped, if we can make it a success, to travel there again in the future. |
 |
We currently have fixtures against Dave McKay’s XI, WPCC, Groot Drak, The Stellenbosch Scorpions, Hermanus CC and Avondale CC and hope to add to these.
The players are all paying for their travel and accommodation but we as a club are looking to raise funds to cover the cricketing costs involved with the tour and provide playing and training kit for the touring party. We have also decided to support ‘The Lord’s Taverners’ charity, which is the official charity for recreational cricket and the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, by donating some of the money we raise.
The following people and organisations have offered their support and we would like to give them our hear-felt thanks:
