Training – youth
This page covers arrangements for members’ training, summer and winter. It is our main method to advise you when we have to make changes to our ‘normal’ schedule, for example, due to weather considerations.
TWCC Friday training: If there is nothing shown below, assume that cricket is currently ‘on’ – please don’t try to contact us since we will be overwhelmed by calls and we have ‘day jobs’.
We have been asked to bring this to the attention of all youth players. Click to see the directive from the ECB regarding cricket helmet compliance with latest safety protocols.
Friday June 2nd
We’re back with our normal schedule this week after losing out to the weather 2 weeks ago and to the Kent match over the Bank Holiday weekend. We hope that many of you enjoyed going to see some professional cricket at the Kent game. Glorious sunshine; glorious cricket; glorious Nevill!
Wednesday May 31st
Free cricket masterclasses with James Tredwell
From time to time we bring you details of special offers that may be of interest to young cricketers and their families even though these are not run by TWCC. On this occasion we have details of Free masterclasses offered by Kent and England spin bowler James Tredwell, on Wednesday May 31st – half-term week, at The Nevill. All boys and girls 13 and over may attend, whatever cricket club or school that they are from.

Winter training schedule
Details advised separately in late October for January programme start.
Bad weather summer/winter
Winter: travel and training venues may be adversely affected by ice/snow. See here for updates:
Summer: we train if pitch and nets are safe to use. On a bad weather day if it has stopped raining we may at least be able to use the nets for some members, but in this event we will inevitably have to disappoint some since we cannot of course fit everyone in over one evening.
For your interest we use this radar website to get some idea of the way any rain is tracking over us weather prospects .
We try to post decisions on changes to plans in due time to prevent unnecessary travel.
Always label kit. If something is left behind we suggest the following: wait until the next Friday and check to see whether the coach has put it into the training bag; check behind the bar or in the umpire’s room. We do have a lost property box and immediately unclaimed property will wind up there – ask the coach to check for you. You may also contact Jo-Anne Dekker.
